David Bodeham
BSc (Ind) Hons, MSc, MRSB, PfCO.
David's academic background lies within bat and amphibian conservation, and he has an extensive knowledge of biodiversity and ecological issues. Over the last 10 years, David has collaborated as researcher and field ecologist with British Universities and conservation organisations such as Natural England and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Since 2016 he has been the Senior Ecological Specialist where is works on projects offsetting and mitigating biodiversity loss. David is also a founding member of Eco Sapien, an educational project dedicated to providing insight into biodiversity, and disseminating conservation research through social media platforms. It is within these bodies of work that David has explored his of love nature, travel and passion for learning and technology.
David’s passion for photography and cinematography started early, as a teenager, when he received his first digital camera. Already homing in on biological sciences as a career, photography became a perfect complement for this growing interest. Throughout the years, David’s work has brought him all over the world, where he has taken advantage his proximity to rare species and ecosystems and has collated and curated images and film of biodiversity and anthropological interactions across the world. Since 2012, David has worked on personal and commercial media projects with a close focus on ecology and wildlife biology, and has collaborated with a number of UK-based and international NGOs. With the advent of social media, David believes that the natural world needs stronger PR, and publicising it will sway people’s attitudes on how they interact with and conserve biodiversity.
